Khalid Arar (PhD) is a Professor at Texas State University and the Associate editor of the International Journal of Leadership in Education & Middle East regional Editor of the Journal of Education Administration and History. His research focusses on issues of diversity, equity and ethnicity in educational leadership and higher education. Recently, he edited Education, Immigration and Migration: Policy, Leadership and Praxis for a Changing World (Studies in Educational Administration) with Jeffrey Brooks and Ira Bogotch for Emerald and a book with Kussai Haj-Yehia, David Ross and Yasar Kondakçı titled as Higher Education Challenges for Migrant and Refugee Students in a Global World (Equity in Higher Education Theory, Policy, and Praxis) for Peter Lang Publishers as well as another book titled Turbulence, Empowerment and Marginalisation in International Education Governance Systems (Studies in Educational Administration)” with Alison Taysum for Emerald.​



Yasemin Karakaşoğlu.jpgProf. Dr. Yasemin Karakaşoğlu, Full professor for Intercultural Education and head of the Unit for Intercultural Education

Prof. Dr. Yasemin Karakaşoğlu (1965) is the head of the research group on Intercultural Education at the Department for the Science in Education/University of Bremen (Germany). Having studied in Hamburg and Ankara she holds a Masters degree in Turcology, German Literature and Political Science from the University of Hamburg and a PhD in Education from the University of Duisburg/Essen. From 2011 to 2017 she has been VP for International and Diversity of the University of Bremen. She is member of the Board of Governors of the DAAD and head of the “Council on Migration”, an NGO of migration researchers and academics from various disciplines. She was influential in developing and implementing the compulsory intercultural, inclusive and language sensitive teacher training university program. Current research interests are: Transnationalism and Teacher Professionalization, Intercultural Education and Diversity Management in Schools and Universities, Islam as a Factor of Multiculturalism in German schools.
